This is the first bag that I have made. It is made from cowhide and lined with pillow ticking. All stitches are hand sewn and I use only flax thread. The leather is covered with a proprietary dressing to both protect and serve as waterproofing. The design is stitched into the front flap and is illustrative of early frontier folk art. The bag is dyed dark and there is no shine to betray you in the woods to hostile eyes whether they be animal or human!! The buckle adjusts the strap to fit where you like your bag to ride. Some folks like it high almost under their arm and some a little lower. I prefer a bag without a buckle that hangs at my waist. The bag is 9" wide and 8 1/2" tall. The inside pocket is sized to hold your smaller shooting tools, a smaller ball bag, patches or what have you. All seams are covered and the flap is both scalloped and fringed. Did I mention it's hand stitched? This bag took me more than 20 hours from start to finish. I would like to sell it for $95.00 and shipping is included. This bag will come with a warranty card that gives the owner a lifetime repair promise. If you wreck it, I will fix it. All you have to do is pay shipping! The card will also state that this is bag number one from Dumb Dutchmen Leather. There will never be another number one. Contact me for details and payment procedures.
